Announcement of the Africa-Asia Educational Collaboration Research Symposium
Background and Objectives
We would like to announce the Africa-Asia Educational Collaboration Research Symposium, jointly organized by the Center for the Study of International Cooperation in Education, Hiroshima University and Waseda University, Institute for Asia Pacific Studies, Study Group on International Education Development, which will be held at the Graduate School of Asia-Pacific Studies (Room 711), Waseda University, on July 4-6, 2012.
Africa-Asia Educational Collaboration Research Symposium is part of activities by the Asia-Africa University Dialogue for Educational Development Network (A-A Dialogue). In cooperation with the United Nation Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), the United Nations University (UNU), the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT), Japan, and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), the international network of A-A Dialogue Phase II was officially embarked upon in June 2009. The aim of the network is to pursue educational and research collaboration among participating universities toward educational development. The network consists of 28 African and Asian universities (16 from Africa and 12 from Asia).
The network will hold a symposium to discuss "Frontier of Educational Development in Africa and Asia: Gender, Quality and Teacher Professional Development". For your reference we have enclosed a copy of the symposium program and a flyer. Please kindly post the flyer for dissemination. The language is English. We will be indeed grateful to have your participation in the symposium.
